As Vice President of Development,
Wendy Koenig is responsible for the continuing evolution of Terabase's
proprietary technology, and oversees all technical projects the company
undertakes. Working with both clients and internal developers, Ms. Koenig
oversees architecture and prototyping, and directly manages selected consulting
efforts.
Ms. Koenig has more than 25 years experience as a software developer, systems
programmer, software architect and technical manager. She has extensive
experience with information retrieval technology and products, online services,
performance optimization, real-time programming, systems programming, record
management and file systems.
Before co-founding Terabase, she was Chief Architect at Ziff Information
Services (ZIS), the information technology subsidiary of Ziff Communications.
During her 14 years at ZIS, she held a variety of technical management and
development positions, and her accomplishments included:
- Oversaw development of online and CD-ROM information products for
external and internal clients, including SEC Online, Dun and Bradstreet,
Prodigy Online Services, Bridge Communications, and Information Access
Company
- Managed development of the search engine used by ZIS for its online
and CD-ROM products
- Director of the systems support group supporting internal and external
timesharing services.
- Oversaw development of system management products, Archiver and SystemMaster,
before their sale to Computer Associates. At the time of the sale, Archiver
was being used by most of the Fortune 500 companies
Ms. Koenig began her career at Digital Equipment Corporation, where she
was a member of the original team that developed the company's noted VMS
operating system.
Following that, she was a systems programmer for the speech recognition
research group at Verbex Corporation, then a subsidiary of Exxon Corporation.
